Supporting the provision of quality welfare for seafarers and their dependants
This is a course aimed at those staff and volunteers from Constituent Member Charities such as Port Chaplains that visit seafarers in port.
The aim of this short, 5-section course is to give ship visitor and other seafarers’ welfare personnel an awareness and understanding of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and the ability to interpret it.
Understanding the International Ship and Port Facility Code, why it came into force and what it intended to achieve. Other objectives include knowing the rights of the seafarer to shore leave and welfare facilities and the rights and responsibilities of port facilities and seafarers’ welfare organisations.Course Programme
