About the course

This course has been developed for anyone working in the maritime industry. Suitable for ship visitors, Maritime charities staff, ship welfare and pastoral support staff and volunteers.

Course Aim

To develop delegates knowledge of their role in Safeguarding Children, young people, and Adults within UK legislation.

Course Outcomes

Understand safeguarding legislations in the UK
Recognise the different categories of abuse and to notice signs, symptoms, and behaviours
Feel confident reporting your concerns
Know who to refer and signpost to once an issue has been identified.

This course is available to candidates from all our Constituent member organisations and where appropriate and space allows, candidates from other organisations within the maritime sector including those members who sit on our Port Welfare Committees.
