Care Ashore, the seafarer accommodation charity, is delighted to announce the launch of its new brand identity and website.
The rebranding marks an exciting chapter in the Charity’s 106-year history and follows the launch of a new 3-year Strategic Plan which renews Care Ashore’s commitment to providing vital accommodation to UK seafarers.
Care Ashore’s accommodation is available to UK residents who have worked at sea at any time during their life, and their dependents. This includes former Merchant Seafarers, Royal Navy and the Royal Fleet Auxiliary personnel, as well as those who have worked on the British fishing fleets, cruise ships, in the offshore oil and gas industry and the offshore wind farm sector.
The Merchant Navy Welfare Board (MNWB), the umbrella charity for the UK Merchant Navy and fishing fleets which represents 47 member charities in welfare, was pleased to support the re-branding project.
Sharon Coveney, who is Deputy CEO of MNWB, said:
“We’re proud to support Care Ashore with this important rebrand and new website. It’s clear they are committed to raising their profile and making it easier for seafarers to understand and access the support available.
“There is a real need to improve awareness across the sector, and this work will help address confusion around the charity’s identity and services. By strengthening its messaging and visibility, Care Ashore can reach more people who could benefit from its accommodation and community.
“Crucially, this investment is about ensuring more seafarers can find and access the support they need, when they need it.”
2026 is an exciting year for the Charity as we celebrate 80 years on the beautiful 250-acre Springbok Estate, nestled within the Surrey Hills. Care Ashore is proud of its strong heritage and that residents can now enjoy high-quality independent and supported accommodation, a large social club with a fully licenced bar and large flat-screen TV, bar billiards, darts and more. Beneficiaries and guests can enjoy meals 7 days a week in the dining room or take a seat in the conservatory or on the terrace overlooking the beautiful grounds.
There are plenty of places to relax and unwind, including a well-stocked library, a welcoming function room, and the beautiful Japanese and walled gardens. Extensive footpaths lead through the surrounding woodlands, offering peaceful routes to explore, while the private one-acre fishing lake is home to a wide variety of species.
Care Ashore also provides holiday accommodation so guests too can enjoy the peace, quiet, and a warm sense of community enjoyed by our unique Charity. The main house offers eight guest rooms with fantastic views across the open countryside, and a campsite with hard-standing pitches which is open all year.
The new website offers a fresh, modern look and improved navigation, making it easier for visitors to access information about all the Charity has to offer.
Care Ashore invites seafarers, supporters and the wider public to explore the new website and discover how the charity is making a difference.
