Trinity House Charity Seminar "Separate but United"

Posted on 23rd July 2019

MNWB presented at the Trinity House sponsored ’Separate but United’ conference on 23 July 2019. Delegates from various maritime charities heard presentations from Nautilus (Mariners’ Park) and the Sailors’ Children's Society of the benefits for collaboration, especially collaborating with charities and local authorities, and being able to leverage greater funds and facilities than that available in isolation. The Chairman of MNWB, Capt. Andrew Cassels, presented on both the risks and benefits of collaboration from a Trustee perspective and Rob Robson, formerly CEO of the RNRMC discussed the benefits of partnering following the creation of the RNRMC in 2007. A useful question and answer session at the end of the day elicited valuable ideas of how the maritime charities sector can work together more effectively and efficiently; some of these ideas may be carried forward by the Board.
