The MNWB and IPWP Programme are pleased to be part of a joint maritime industry initiative entitled ‘Seafarers Delivering Christmas Campaign’
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the crew change crisis seafarers have been placed under incredible stress. A coalition of shipping organisations have come together to ensure seafarer are not forgotten this Christmas. At this special time of year we are calling on industry, social partners and all who care for seafarers to step up and ensure those who deliver Christmas to the world are supported. You can support the campaign through social media using the hashtag #SeafarersDeliveringChristmas
How you can get involved:
Organisations and individuals are encouraged to be creative and get involved in whatever way they wish in support of seafarers at this challenging time, you can:
- Donate gifts and money to the seafarers’ missions and seafarers’ charities
- Provide 10 minute free telephone calls
- Join in by making the 12 days of Christmas Singalong video
- Provide access to company or other support helplines for seafarers
- Organise festive activities
This has been a challenging year for many of us, but seafarers as key workers have had to go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the world is supplied with the goods we all need. We want to get as many people as possible involved in the campaign so that we can send a strong message of support and appreciation that will help to lift their spirits.
