ITF Seafarers’ Trust and MNWB have been nominated for SMART4SEA 2020 Connectivity Award for the MiFi project which is funded by ITF Seafarers’ Trust and managed by the MNWB.
The MiFi project provides portable WiFi devices to UK port chaplains/ship visitors from either; Aberdeen Seafarers’ Centre, Apostleship of the Sea, Fishermen’s Mission, Liverpool Seafarers Centre, Mission to Seafarers, Queen Victoria Seamen’s Rest, Sailor’s Society and the Seamen’s Christian Friend Society (SCFS).
These devices are then used to provide free data on a strong and secure network to seafarers within UK ports which they can then use to connect with the rest of the world.
