On Saturday 9th November, the Board arranged for five cadets from Warsash Maritime Academy and five British serving personnel from Princess Cruises, Holland America Line and Seabourn Cruises to represent the Merchant Navy at the Festival of Remembrance service.
MNWB’s Chief Executive Peter Tomlin represented the Board at the ceremony held at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
When asked about the occasion Mr. Tomlin said: “Without the Merchant Navy our armed forces would not be effective. I was so proud to see the Merchant Navy announced and muster with the Armed Forces. You were professional, disciplined and a great credit to us all – thank you ladies and gentlemen for a job very well done.”
