The Board is currently working with the main UK seafarers' welfare providers on a major port welfare evaluation project. Working in collaboration with the societies and unions it is intended to create a factual database to help service providers assess port welfare services, facilities and levels of need. The database will utilise local knowledge from the regional Port Welfare Committee in order to remain accurate and up to date.  The aim of the database will be to provide the maritime welfare providers and funding organisations with the overall data necessary to make informed decisions on the way ahead.
