TYNE WELFARE COMMITTEE

Chairman: Mr Lance Hislop

Vice Chairman: Captain Peter Wynn

Tyne Port Welfare CommitteeThe Tyne Port Welfare Committee (PWC) meets three times a year. Meeting venues usually alternate between the offices of Tyne Port Authority, RNMDSF North Shields, Seaham Seafarers Centre, The Mission to Seafarers, Flying Angel Club, South Shields and more recently at the MCA Tyne. The Committee consider seafarers' welfare issues at a local, national and international level.  Topics can range from port welfare facilities in the Tyne area to the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006.  The committee also considers grant applications to the MNWB and the MCFGs grants programmes with comments and recommendations passed on to the relevant grant making charity.
