Seafarers' welfare upgrade for Gibraltar
Wed 08 Apr 2009
Following the success of their application for a MNWB grant, the Mediterranean Mission to Seafarers, Apostleship of the Sea (Gibraltar) and Sailors' Society plan to upgrade their seafarers' welfare facilities in Gibraltar. The societies plan to refurbish the Flying Angel Club at North Mole, refurbish a new facility at South Mole and improve communications at the Methodist Church, Main Street. This project would not have been achievable without the enthusiastic support and assistance of Cammell Laird (Gibraltar) and Lewis Stagnetto Ltd. It is intended to have an official opening of the upgraded facilities on Tuesday 9th June 2009.
The Gibraltar Port Welfare Committee is extremely grateful to Maurice Stagnetto, Director of Lewis Stagnetto Ltd and Joseph Corvelli, CEO Cammell Laird (Gibraltar) for their proactive support of the project which will benefit seafarers visiting Gibraltar, in particular crews of the numerous cruise vessels and those ships undergoing refit.
