Invergordon Church Provides Seafarers’ Centre

Following an approach and help from the Sailors’ Society, the MNWB contributed a substantial grant toward the creation of a seafarers centre situated within the Church of Scotland on Castle Road, Invergordon. The Board also funded and organised the installation of card payphones and modern Internet facilities. The centre provides reduced rate international phone cards and sim cards dedicated for the use of the crews of the many Cruise ships visiting the port of Invergordon. The church spire can be seen from all over the port so it is not difficult to find and seafarers have already commented favourably on the set up which enables them to get off the ship for a short break and contact family and friends on state of the art communications facilities.
