| Objectives / History | The relief of widows, children and parents of men who have lost their lives at sea while serving in Grimsby fishing vessels. Benefits are paid for adults for life and for children whilst in full time education. Three Almshouse charities, administered separately, are closely associated with the Fund. These are: Diamond Jubilee Provident Homes, Doughty Road and Weelsby Court, Grimsby (49 Almshouses) The Grimsby and District Homes for Poor and Aged Workers of the Fish Trade (Smedley Cottages), Manor DriveWaltham, Grimsby and Hainton Avenue, Grimsby (32 Almshouses) Fishermen and Sailors' Harbour of Refuge Almshouse Trust, Weelsby Street, Grimsby (48 Almshouses). Accomodation consists of Almshouse. Admissions are limited to retired fishermen and their wives, widows or retired fishermen all ranks are accepted |
