Objectives / History The Apostleship of the Sea (AOS), known to seafarers worldwide as 'Stella Maris', offers practical and pastoral care. Port chaplains and volunteer ship visitors work for seafarers regardless of nationality or religion. Services include access to communications facilities and transport to local amenities. Port chaplains and their teams are also onhand to listen to seafarers, to offer support to those feeling lonely or isolated and to visit sick seafarers in hospital.
