Objectives / History

The Trust Fund provides 28 one bedroom and three two bedroom flats for aged merchant seamen and fishermen and their widows or unmarried daughters.

The occupants shall be deserving persons who are retired seamen or the widows of seamen or their unmarried daughters, being not less than 50 years of age, such seamen, widows or daughters being at the time appointed resident in the City of Sunderland or seamen having previously worked for at least ten years in ships from the Port of Sunderland.
