Objectives / History Founded in 1848, Sir Gabriel Woods Mariners' Home is set in large grounds overlooking the River Clyde. It provides sheltered housing and residential care.

Residential care is provided for up to 37 retired seafarers or their spouses, from both the Merchant and Royal Navies. In addition it has a seven bed unit specialising in the care of those suffering from Korsakoff's syndrome (a form of dementia).

The sheltered housing is within a complex of flats.
