APPLICANTS

This information should be available in sufficient time to include in the agenda. Details will include:

All members of the PWCs submitting an application for a grant for capital project, start up costs or an evaluation involving a local project are requested to forward details to the Port Welfare Secretary. This information should be available in sufficient time to include in the agenda.

Details should include:

  • The name and local address of the organisation applying.
  • The name of the nautical charity/ies to whom the application will be sent.
  • An outline of the proposed work including capital costs and a business plan showing future income and expenditure.
  • How the project will benefit visiting seafarers, locally domiciled ex-seafarers (and their dependants) or both.
  • An indication of how the project is expected to improve the welfare of seafarers (other than for essential repairs or replacement).
  • An outline of any discussions concerning the proposal that have been held with other seafarers' welfare organisations in that area.
  • Whether any work will temporarily reduce the welfare coverage for seafarers in that port and if so, any possible means of substituting services during the project.
