INTERNATIONAL SHIP WELFARE VISITOR COURSE

This course is the International version of the MNWB UK Ship Welfare Visitor Course and is delivered by a trained Instructor via the ICSW over a two-day period.  It is designed to give all employees and volunteers who work for bone fide maritime welfare charities an insight into ship welfare visiting.  The course includes basic health & safety, understanding ship board and port management and organisation, ship routines and protocol, potential seafarers’ issues and seafarers’ backgrounds. It should be noted that the International SWVC is accredited by the Nautical Institute.  An ID card is issued in the same way as the MNWB UK course and is valid for 5 years.
